Acorn Tops

I collected a bunch of acorn tops on a recent field trip.
I don't know were they went.
*Someone* wanted to throw them away.
So I *think* I gathered them up and put them in a jar.
Or, at least, that was the plan.
Now, I cannot find that jar.
So, is my memory of gathering them up?
Or is it of: planned to gather them up?
Either way I cannot find them.
That makes me sad.
I had projects planned :(
Oh well, over again I start.
Gathering acorn tops whenever I can.

I hate when that happens.
I save lots of odd, odds and ends. Empty cornichon jars, random scraps of paper. Acorn tops. Somewhat of a pack rat.
I have intentions though. Creative plans. Button jars, decorations, collages....
However I share a home with someone who does not save such things. So sometimes I have to *hide* things-or put them away quickly before they get tossed. And sometimes I end up hiding them from myself apparently.
I had such a good collection too. They came from a special field trip. I wanted to knit little acorns and glue the tops on, and string them up from the chandelier over the dining table this Thanksgiving.
I have only found a few tops in the yard, since I started looking for that jar. Alas, I don't think this project will get done in time :0

Instead, I made a bag for a field trip.
To gather acorns, or leaves, or maybe just to put your small camera in for a walk so you can take pretty pictures...

I used Heather Ross' upholstery weight Far Far Away fabric, appliqued the princess on with free motion stitching and voila~

Can you spot the difference in the last 2 photos? Just for fun ; )
(Homage to my Dad, who had a mustache, and would have celebrated a birthday this month)

Field trip bag in the shop now.
P.S: Don't forget ~15% off everything in the shop, thru November : )
