Let Your Art Guide You~Week 10
I can't believe another week has gone by in the blink of an eye.
I almost titled this post -"More distraction". (I wrote about it before, not too long ago).
I almost didn't post at all, but wanted to keep my goal of making at least one thing weekly to show for the "Let Your Art Guide You" group. Even if it's just another WIP, maybe this way I'll remember to try and accomplish some more creative time.
It's not really so much that I don't remember~ I am constantly thinking of what I should, or want to be doing. Sometimes I can hardly sleep daydreaming of what I'm planning to make the following day, new ideas, new patterns, fabrics and yarn await me in the studio. I'm always thinking: I'll have time tomorrow, all kinds of good intentions-and then somehow my plans get sidetracked week after week.
Distraction. How do others accomplish so much? Especially those who have full time jobs outside the home. I don't know. They must be better organized. Less distracted by all of the little things that keep getting in my way. Something.
I don't want to mention again how hard for me this move has been.(Oops , I just did, :0) Ironically one of the goals moving here was to have space for me to create-which I have now, yet I think I actually got more accomplished in the corner of a bedroom in a little condo. It's frustrating sometimes.
~If you think you need a big space to work-you don't really, at least not to start. You just need less distraction, maybe the willpower not to say 'yes' to everything/one? And lots of time organizational skills.
I'm probably being too hard on myself. I don't know.
Enough for now. Time for the positive...
Let me show you what I intended to finish. Hey, at least I started, right?:
I know you've seen this fabric before...last week was it?....but this is a different project. I decided to try my hand at pencil cases. Shouldn't be too far a stretch from pouches -just a little shorter, and wider right?
I have enough of this fabric left to make a coffee cozy~ and I've already cut that out (!) A head start.
I decided that from now 'til about June, if I buy another piece of fabric, and I'll try my best not to, that I will make as many projects out of that piece of fabric, 'til it's all used up. That way I don't have any unused pieces laying around in a million boxes, just finished projects for the shop, hopefully it'll help stash bust, motivate me not to buy supplies I don't really need, and save money for ...
Our trip to Europe. I haven't been back in 4 years. We will visit his family in Italy and I'd like to visit my family in Germany too. Planning to go in early June, hopefully it'll work out : )
Before being 'distracted' I got as far as ~starting to add the buttons. They are vintage and I believe glass. Maybe I'll get it done today or tomorrow?
Here's to hoping this week I will focus more on things I want to do more of : )
Are you distracted too?

I love that flower print, those will be very nice once they are done :) Keep your chin up, we are all human :D
ooooh- I really like those colors and fabric. So beautiful!!
first, that fabric and your photo caught my attention right away! love it. excited to see your pencil cases.
secondly, don't know how long you've been moved, but maybe it'll just take a little time to fall into a groove in the new space.
lastly, i am distracted constantly too and have similar problems. so many ideas, so little time. i never accomplish what i plan to in a day. so, you're not alone!
Thank you all, for your kind words.I truly appreciate it.
Distracted! YES...sometimes it is a mystery how I get anything accomplished in a day! Great brick and I love the red contrast!
