I spent the weekend (frustratingly) knitting up a bear hat for a 1 year old's birthday present.
I had to frog it, several times, it made me skip stitches, it split. I have not had this much trouble since the first hat I ever knit(years ago).I admit, it is by far not my best piece of work & I am glad it is done.
The pattern is one I've done several times before-by Susan B Andersen in the Itty Bitty Hats book. It's a simple roll brim hat done on circular needles, and of course the top is modified for the ears. Very Easy-and fun to make!
The yarn, not so fun.
I went to ravelry, to see what others have said about it, and to my surprise, it received mostly good(ish)reviews with 4/5 stars(!).
Maybe it just wasn't my weekend for knitting?
I think I'll make pompoms with the leftovers ;)

that's a great idea-i was thinking of making them for adults too :)
Well it looks stinking adorable - so you fooled me. I know how it goes sometimes though when nothing seems to work right. Hate that.
