I have been working on an aran knit headband from the 'Aran Knits' book by Martin Storey.
I
first saw the book in the local bookstore, but since I'm not (too) used
to working in cables or such textured pieces, I thought I'd check my
library to see if they had it first~ and lucky for me, they did :)
I decided to start with the headband as I figure it's probably the easiest pattern. It seems to be working out nicely, and now that I know I can do these stitches, I can justify getting the book...I'd like to try the hats next.
I used Amy Butler for Rowan 'belle organic aran' yarn. My daughter says this looks like peas. She's maybe right(?) I was going for a nice Spring color :0
In a search for new supplies to spark some currently lacking inspiration, I found these great vintage buttons yesterday. Aren't they pretty? I'm a sucker for vintage graphics and packaging :)
I'm trying to figure out when these bottom navy swirly buttons are from. I wrote a post on the button floozies blog asking for help in dating them. You can read the post here.
