Tribal Vibe and Amy Butler Headbands

I can't stop making these headbands...
I'm forever fiddling with the widths and lengths and so forth, on almost every one...

They're all perfectly wearable, but I'm trying to get to where I say~ aha-that's the way I'll do all of the future ones!
The design process is the longest part of any pattern making for me.

You would think these would be super easy to make~at least I did at first.
I've looked at, and tried figuring, the best ways to get the elastic onto the gathered part, how wide the gathered part needs to be, the elastic, the shape, etc etc...sewing the layers together, I've busted a few needles, but, I had a(nother) idea yesterday I think might work next time ;)

Now one of my girls suggested lace trim which I'll try too...
I wore the red one (see yesterdays post) all afternoon and forgot I even had it on, its so comfortable.I'm growing out some bangs, or rather, growing them longer (oops) and this is a great way to hold them back...

It's fun picking out the fabrics & I thought I would be able to use (up) almost anything from my stash. For now I'm sticking with florals and random prints that look good or whose colors are interesting once gathered.
I almost used a squirrel print yesterday, then realized, once scrunched, you wouldn't recognize that they were squirrels at all!

Beautiful Andrea. Patterns really are one of the hardest parts of a new product aren't they. I'm loving these headbands. They are the perfect way to add a touch of colour and fun to an outfit. I hope you are having a lovely week. Melinda x
