O.k, so I'll bet every time you come back here the blog looks different!? It does.
I know it's important to be consistent with blogs and shop pictures and all but I like to change things up from time to time. If you've been reading my blog awhile, you'll know I'm the one who while still applying the fresh coat of paint to the walls is already pondering the next color!
Color, one of my favorite things.
Yesterday, I spent a good portion of the day figuring out how to eliminate the border from the banner so it would look like it fit. It seems that just one pixel up or down made it either too big or too small for the frame and that bothered me, so I got rid of it altogether.
Then I set about eliminating the frames from all of the pictures in the posts as well. Maybe I should put them back and make them a different color? Since I really have no experience with all of this I suspect some day the whole blog will accidentally disappear with one click of the backspace key.
And I did all of this without asking my brother for help. (Pats self on back). There is one more thing I tried and tried to do but couldn't seem to make it work so I will have to ask him about that.
It's so funny because I hate to change things around in my personal life. I like routine. I think this comes from moving a lot when I was a kid.
Maybe my artistic life is where I allow myself that freedom without worry and stress.

O.k, so how do you like my new banner? It took me a kajillion times resizing it on the program I have to make it fit into the frame thats around it.Maybe if I got rid of the frame? It comes from a series of pictures I took like the one above of my heart shaped sewing pins that my daughters and I took.I just played with it on picnik til they were, well, like you see .
In other news, I have added a coffee/tea sleeve to the shop. My nice pictures of them are on flickr. I plan on adding another tonight and 2 of my daughters earrings .I'll get some of those pics up as soon as I 'fix' them. She just sold a necklace this week and got excellent feedback and is so happy.
I have to go make dinner now. Good night.

Domo

This is how we spent our day.
I always think I am going to get something done when the girls are home (laughs to self)
Instead I made 2 pillows for my daughter.
She loves Domo.

I like how the standard case turned out. I did a lot of practicing with my new machine.(Note the stars stitched near the opening).
Don't mind the wrinkly-ness.(Or her manicure).
She loves them.
She also wants me to stitch "Domo" on the side.
Tomorrow I'll try and get pictures of the coffee/tea sleeves I managed to make yesterday. Just in time for Valentine's Day. And maybe make a banner !

Playing with color

As you can see I've been playing with color again. It's so addictive. I've changed the blog background about 20 times just in the last 10 minutes! I think I'll keep this color up through Valentine's Day-just a few weeks away! I signed in to change the banner, but I won't get around to that today.
What I really want to do is try my Valentine's Day project ideas, but I can't get to my new sewing machine through the "supplies".
I got this one for Christmas, and have only been able to try it out once! It's a Sapphire 850. Can't wait to see what it'll do. Once I reach it.

New banner coming soon?

Well as you can see I put my old banner away in hopes of creating a new one and can't quite seem to remember how to do it. I haven't done much creatively on the computer lately and so I forget.
The pinks in the old banner didn't go with the blue background, but now I'm not sure I want to keep the blue. (I'm the one that has repainted the living room 4 times in ten years. As soon as the paint is dry, my mind has already changed a few times). I want to spruce up the blog with new colors and goodies I have in mind for the new year. Resolutions resolutions.
My brother-the same one who helped me figure out how to change the background colors, offered to help. He has photoshop or something more/better (skills) than me so I might have to take him up on his offer.
Well, I have to go untrim the tree. It's always so depressing to take down Christmas. I'd better get moving 'cause we're going to Disneyland this afternoon!
I don't have any newish pictures uploaded so the one above is a crazy red on red shot of the flannel scottie dog pillow I made for my aunt and uncles sofa. They have a matching real live scottie. The pillow has a satin eyelet edged ribbon on it so it looks like a package. It turned out very nice I think. Don't mind the stripey background.
