Zip-adee-doo-dah

'collage kitchen table' backdrop

This is what I have been working on this weekend. Like many weekends for many years.
I love to make pouches. I hate to put in zippers. The kind that are directly on top of the pouch (purse etc.).

I've been working on it off and on since yesterday (small portions of time) and think I might have finally gotten the zipper installed in a way I like. Crossing fingers to be able to do it a second time. That'll be the true test of success. Can she do it twice? We'll see about that tomorrow.

I have bought so many patterns and books and read tutorials on installing zippers over the years and somehow I can never seem to make them look nice enough, to me. (Too self critical maybe?)
This time I thought I would just keep doing it til I got it right.Taking notes along the way. That has helped immensely....only sacrificing 2 zippers.

I like how the ends turned out. What do you think?

trying out different stitch patterns on my new machine too-fun!

Oh, and those iron on tags are from namemaker.I just got them the other day. Most of them look good. Some are a little smeary looking but only a few. Not bad for the price I guess. It's nice to be able to just iron them on in the pouches. I would like to get woven ones but they only allow 20 letters or something and I'm just 2 characters over the limit :(

Have a great weekend!

Your pouches are sooo cute!! I'm still working on getting my business cards printed. It's so hard to find services like that where it doesn't cost you an arm and a leg. :)
