coffee or tea ?

I am doing this post on my new computer and want to check and see how easy it is to upload the pictures from new files.
Yesterday I made up some new coffee sleeves .I really wanted one for myself and really liked the 'recipe' fabric . It's another Japanese fabric that I like a lot . Wanting to spruce things up a bit and thinking they might need an update I thought trim would be nice and found in my stash some very nice pink ric-rac to go with it . It was a little tricky getting it around the curves but I think it turned out nicely and will be adding these to the shop soon ...Soon as I decide on a price and stop shopping for more trims to put around coffee sleeves !

I'm very new to blogging and have a hard time trying to get the pictures where I want them ...

This is one of my favorites . I think it looks warm and toasty . It has "afternoon tea'' printed on it and little tea things . It's a Susan Branch print .

So should I keep calling these coffee sleeves ? They could be used for any warm drink such as ...tea .

S'more pouches

No , sorry , unfortunately no s'mores were consumed during the making of these pouches but I did have Nutella for breakfast...
I made up these pouches yesterday . This one is a linen (?) Japanese fabric print of bunnies and squirrels . I love it . It almost looks like it's embroidered .
The lining is green...

I had to bribe my little "photographers assistant "to help me hold it up straight for the photo .

One of my favorite things about making these little bags is that I get to use pieces of my scrap bag(s) collection to finish off the ends of the zippers in contrasting fabrics...as you've maybe read before I love to save all my little scraps !

This one is the little forest animal pouch .

I love pink and red color combinations , and since this had the minty green like the zipper too , I decided to go with it for the lining . It's going to be hard for me to part with this one .

This one I call the Paris cat . It's another Japanese fabric , feels more woven than most cotton quilting fabrics . It has a few Parisian monuments on the 'map' , most of which I'm lucky enough to have been to .

This is the lining , I used Anna Maria Horner's Chocolate Lollipop fabric . I love polka dots ! Her prints are very lovely .

I made about 5 bags yesterday , unfortunately some didn't pass my quality control so I usually end up using them myself or giving them to people who 'love them anyway'.

I also made up a new bib design , but haven't put one together yet...and cut out some more coffee sleeves .

Lots to do I'd better get going.....

Oh..I'm going to list these pouches today !

New pouches

I spent yesterday making up new pouches that I want to add to the shop soon ... as soon as I make some more that is ....

I designed them myself since I am making them for sale . . . It took me the whole morning to perfect sandwiching the zipper between the interior and exterior fabrics and to make it seem really finished on the inside . I'm very persnickety and hard on myself with all the little details .

I have made many pouches like these from patterns before and while there are some that I love , I can't recall any that I think are finished and simple enough (for me) to do quickly but I think these are pretty much a success . Now to see if I can make more...
I think these would make great gifts for almost anyone . I love the color combination of the red and green .
Here's the little sparrow pouch...

This one I made first , but I made the zipper a little less finished on the inside . It's cute tho' ...I love birds and like the little felt detail and vintage button....

( Here's a little inside view )
O.k I'm of to make more...

September

Well it seems as though I haven't posted anything for awhile .
It's been a busy summer and not the best one for us . Many ups and downs.
Today was the first day of school for my girls . It's always sad to me to see them go but I do get some time to myself now and maybe I'll get something done .
Tonight I am trying to upload pictures and new things to flickr and the shop . I recently sold some notepads that I had such fun making that I decided to make 2 more and get them up for sale.
This is the Tea Party Notepad . I loved adding all the little scraps I have . It actually takes me much longer than it looks because I have to find just the right pieces in just the right color .Then the buttons and ribbons . This one went through several color schemes because i couldn't find the perfect ribbon in my "little stash ."

This one is the Dick and Jane notepad .

Here are the mini bibs . These are a little smaller than the ones I usually make so I think they'd be a better fit for a newborn...

A Dick and Jane bib

And of course my Little Bo Peep tote . I love the print on this fabric . It has a blue polka dot bottom and a blue 'swirly' colored vintage button...

Check out my shop for more details and pictures!
